Sushi and Unicorns

How was your weekend? All was good on the Laura B. homefront. On Friday, I taught Zumba then got some sushi with our fraaaaaands, Michael and Rachel. I'm a vegetarian, but I still love me some veggie sushi. Side note: I also love the smell of bacon even though the thought of eating it repulses me. I'm a weirdling, I know.

AAC Roll (Avocado, Asparagus, Cucumber), Sweet potato roll and Tamago sushi

On Saturday, I taught Strong and Zumba and rounded out the day with some KARAOKE! Being tone deaf, I naturally avoid singing anywhere outside of my car. Ironic for a public speaking teacher, but trust me--it's for the good of humanity. Michael and Rachel power-duo'd some Total Eclipse of the Heart, and it was magical! I really wish I had gotten video because they were fabulous!

Aren't they adorable? :)

Sunday morning, everything was going okay and then I go down to move the laundry and BAM--flooded basement. Sorry for the lack of pics, but I was running around trying to salvage my college and graduate diplomas. Which were in water. I paid good money for those pieces of paper! Also, you don't want to see/hear about that kind of stuff. BOOOORRRRINGZZzzzzzzzzzzzz. HEY, look, it's a unicorn I made this weekend out of pipe cleaners...

This is what happens when you challenge Laura B. to make a pipe cleaner animal--she delivers!

Finished a stressful Sunday evening with some Chinese food, Game of Thrones and some Don Draper. Don is my secret TV boyfriend. If you've ever seen Mad Men, you'll know why I say boyfriend. He's probably the worst fictional husband ever. Still so dreamy...

Here's some other pics from this past week! I take too many pictures, but I'm glad that photography minor of mine is paying off :)

Closet Desk Phase 1: Desk Installation
My Dad installed the desk for me. He's pretty awesome.

Closet Desk Phase 2: Decorate and Organize.
Trying to keep it clean. *TRYING*

Closet Desk Phase 3: Puppy Installation
Daisy approves this snooze spot.

New Zumba Kicks! I've been putting off buying new shoes for a while but these were love at first sight.
Head over heels for these Reeboks! They have lots of colors! CHECK IT!

Pound cake, made by my husband's grandmother. Sent all the way from South Carolina! Makes me miss the southeast (and the decadent southern food).  Deadly good. Everything in moderation, right?

My "summer fun" list. I made a list of fun things I want to do this summer. I wanted to keep my real "work" and "to-do" lists separate. I love making lists. It just makes sense.  Stephen Covey says it's a habit of highly effective people :) One fun down, more fun to go!

FINALLY got around to planting the boxes on our porch. My mother-in-law helped! I'm not a very good gardener though I try.

It's been raining all week. We had ONE day of full sunshine on Monday and, man, did my puppies love it!

Question: What are three things on your "Summer Fun List"?

  1. Hmmm...All of those except stain the dining room table. And visit Pam. Oh and make a crown. I already have one! : )
