Bustin' Outta Blog Hibernation!

I can't believe it's been over a YEAR since I last posted! So much has happened during hibernation...

Click the link above for more pics at my photographer's website!

I ran my first Spartan Race!
Nine miles of mud and wet, cold obstacles! Running ANOTHER one in July!

We bought a house!
Thank god we moved everything before it snowed!

Major scary adult stuff! But one thing hasn't changed--my fitness philosophy and my love for group fitness.

Recently, a group fitness participant/friend asked me for some running song recommendations. Nothing gets me amped like a good song. Reinvigorated, I compiled a LONG list of upbeat songs I'm really into right now.

These are my "alt-selections"--a bunch of rock and alternative songs from that longer list. I love pretty much all genres of music (except jazz), but I don't get to use a whole lot of alt rock for fitness classes because pre-formatted fitness music tends to be mostly pop and hip hop. But sometimes, my inner emo/hipster/indie/wannabe rocker chick just wants to rock steady during a workout :)

Perfect alt rock mix for running, walking, prancercising, or hell--just listening to. I was so excited that I wanted to share it here! Enjoy!

1. Out of My League - Fitz and the Tantrums

2. Chocolate - The 1975

3. Still Into You - Paramore

4. Holding Onto You - Twenty One Pilots
