Ab-spiration: Gwen Stefani

This week last year, I was front and center at a No Doubt concert in Chicago. IT WAS FREAKIN' MAGICAL, YA'LL! No Doubt is my hands-down favorite band and Gwen Stefani is nothing short of a goddess. She's the rock-girl package--her style, hair, make-up, and of course, that bod that still looks rockin' even after two babies! I want to high-five her trainer :)

Given my idolization, I buy any magazine that has an inkling of her on the cover. So, when I saw "Gwen Stefani's fitness secrets" on the cover of the July 2010 Shape Magazine, I snatched up it. It turned out to just be a blurb about how Gwen satisfies her sweet tooth with seasonal fruit, but I got this lovely picture to hang on my "inspiration wall."

I waited close to a DECADE to see No Doubt in concert. My first CD EVER was Tragic Kingdom. I was in 4th grade and I got it for my birthday. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to see ND in concert because every tour date that they came near my hometown, something was going on in my personal life:

6th grade: Church Confirmation

10th grade: Prom

College: Giant end-of-the-year Western Civilization Exam

So, last summer I lived up the experience (and took TONS of photos for fitness inspiration!).

Enjoy!

Beginning of the concert--Gwen did lots of skanking. I really don't know how she sings and jumps around like she does. I guess that's true TALENT!

DA-YUM! Look at them Gwen-abs! Ab-spiration! After two kids, I hope my abs will turn out like this! I didn't see any stretch marks or scars either!

Holy Moly, this chick is hella good!

The closest I got to the stage all night. I didn't see a single wrinkle, crow's foot or NOTHING on her face--FLAWLESS!

Singing "Don't Speak"

They let this random kid come up and play drums--awesome!

Let us not forget Tony Kanal, Gwen's Ex-BF and the bassist--what a stone fox! ;)

It can't be the end!?!?! IT JUST CAN'T! :(

Me and my favorite "concert workout" buddy, my younger sister!

ND even has a B-side track called "You're So Foxy." It should be the theme song for this blog :)

Q o' The Day--Leave your answer in a comment: Concerts are an excellent workout! You've got your cardio (moshing, jumping, singing) and also your flexibility (crowd-surfing, climbing to the front row, etc.)! Been to any concerts this summer? What is the best concert you've ever attended?
